From Uruguay, Argentina and Peru, EWTN Global Catholic Network will bring Pope Leo XIV's Nov. 6-17 journey to audiences across broadcast, digital and social platforms, with coverage in seven languages

WASHINGTON, Nov. 5, 2026 — EWTN Global Catholic Network will provide extensive live coverage of Pope Leo XIV's Nov. 6-17 apostolic journey to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru, bringing the major events of the Holy Father's 12-day visit to audiences around the world.

EWTN will deploy the full reach of its global network with reporting, live updates, analysis and original content across its television, radio, digital, social media and news platforms in seven languages. Papal events will be broadcast in English and Spanish on EWTN's linear television channels and streamed live on EWTN.com.

EWTN en Español will lead the network's coverage, broadcasting live the Holy Father's major events each day and providing reporting and analysis from the region. From the EWTN studio, anchors Omar Aguilar and Paola Arriaza-Flynn will offer context and commentary, guiding Spanish-language audiences on the significance of the trip. Additionally, EWTNNews.com/es, the new Spanish-language digital experience from EWTN News, will provide continuous reporting from the region, video, analysis and updates.

"For Catholics across Latin America and around the world, a visit from the Holy Father is much more than a news event. It is a moment for the Church to come together, to listen and to encounter and to pray with the successor of Peter," said Enrique Duprat, Vice President of Spanish Language Production and Marketing for EWTN. "Throughout this journey, we will accompany our audiences through every moment: from the great public celebrations to the quieter encounters that often tell us so much about a papal visit, helping viewers not simply watch what is happening, but understand why it matters to the life of the Church."

The papal trip to South America will be the first major global news event under the leadership of EWTN News' new president, Ursula Murua, the Peruvian-born, bilingual Catholic media leader who assumed the post Nov. 1. Murua will play a key role in EWTN's coverage of the journey, including the Pope's visit to the country she still considers home.

"For Peruvians, this visit will be deeply personal, and EWTN News will be on the ground to share it with the world," said Ursula Murua, President of EWTN News. "Pope Leo spent decades serving the Church in Peru. The Holy Father's enthusiasm for this trip, especially after his recent surgery, only shows how deeply connected he is to the Church in Latin America."

Pope Leo XIV spent more than two decades as a missionary and bishop in Peru before his election to the papacy. His return as Pope will bring him back to a country and a Church that shaped much of his priestly and episcopal ministry.

Pope Leo's Latin American journey particularly resonates with EWTN News. Like the first North American Pope, whose priestly and episcopal life was profoundly shaped by Peru, EWTN News has been formed by both the United States and Latin America. Its global news operation is headquartered in Washington, D.C., while its Spanish-language journalism has deep roots in Peru, where the team now called EWTN News Español began its work more than three decades ago.

"We understand something of the two worlds Pope Leo carries with him," Murua said. "We carry the gratitude and sense of possibility that are so much a part of the American experience, but we also carry the fervor of a Peruvian Church that gave the world saints like Rose of Lima and Martin de Porres. Those traditions meet in a particular way in this Pope, and they are part of the story our journalists will have the privilege of telling as he returns to Latin America."

For EWTN, coverage of this journey will demonstrate the network's increasingly integrated approach to bringing Catholic events and news to a worldwide audience in the languages and platforms they use most.
